Thanks for the info on ROM checking, we'll have a look and see if we
can pinpoint anything.

At the moment he doesn't have anything in the card slot - he hopes to
have a CNet card before long, and was checking the slot.

PrepCard opens a window on a 1200 with most of the options ghosted if
there is no card present, whereas the A4000 gives a straight "No card
slot" message.
